There are two primary forms generalized in psoriasis, which affects the entire body, and localized ones, which affects an area, usually the toes, palms of the hands or soles of the feet. Both types of pustular psoriasis result in the itching and pain of the pus-filled blisters on the skin.

Pustular psoriasis can be difficult to treat and people with the condition should take medication under the supervision of a physician. Several home remedies can also help control pustular psoriasis.

Psoriasis blisters are not only painful and unsightly. They also serve as conduits for bacteria and germs to enter the body and cause an infection. Keeping your skin clean and free of infections is an important part of your strategy for treating any form of psoriasis.

Bathe daily. Soaking for about 15 minutes in water to which Epsom salt, soft oil or colloidal oatmeal has been added will help soothe and clean the skin.

Remove the scales gently with a cloth. Apply a cream, rich in moisturizing oil, after bathing, before you start your day, and before going to bed at night. If possible, wrap the affected areas with a plastic or cloth after applying the moisturizer to sleep.

Medications for the Skin.

If your skin is very inflamed and with blisters, take care of it by incorporating medicated creams or lotions into your daily routine. Choose products containing salicylic acid or hydrocortisone.

Triggers of plantar and pustular psoriasis.

For most people, some activities trigger outbreaks of psoriasis. Keep a notebook for several days or weeks, taking into account the conditions under which psoriasis gets worse.

Typical triggers include smoking, drinking alcohol, extreme temperatures, stress and strong exposure to the sun. Keep in mind, however, that exposure to the sun is limited every day and often helps control psoriasis. Avoid any conditions you've noted that made your psoriasis worse.

The Immune System.

Psoriasis may seem "just a skin problem," but according to studies, it is also understood to be a disorder of the immune system. Strengthening the immune system prevents diseases and helps fight psoriasis.

Eat healthy and well-balanced meals. Exercise every day, and have at least seven hours of sleep each night.
